Elixir presents a #WHISKYWEEK special event: Craft Whisk(e)y Blind Tasting Without Bias

SEE EVENT DETAILS
It’s Flavor That Matters: Craft Whisk(e)y Blind Tasting Without Bias
WHAT: An informational guided BLIND tasting of EIGHT American craft whiskeys (from THREE distilleries) lead by the Director of Brand Advocacy for the artisanal spirits company Samson & Surrey
WHEN: #WhiskyWeek Special Event! Thursday, October 5th, 8pm-9pm (Come to the bar early, have a beer and relax until we start. Kyle's team will be pouring tastes and talking to the crowd.)

So many things affect our choices when it comes to which whisk(e)y to enjoy – marketing, reviews, package style, word-of-mouth, etc.  In the end, the true arbiter of that choice should be the flavor of the liquid in the bottle, and the effect it has on your individual palate.  Tonight, we will strip away all the pretense and blind taste eight different small-production whiskies from three different distilleries in the US and abroad.  At the end, we’ll reveal each liquid and its unique story to discover which was truly your favorite – sans preconception!  Hosted by Samson & Surrey’s Director of Brand Advocacy & US Bartenders’ Guild Executive Vice President Kyle McHugh

ABOUT KYLE MCHUGHKyle McHugh is an all-around beverage alcohol expert with over 20 years experience in the hospitality industry.  He is a CMS Certified Sommelier, Cicerone Certified Beer Server and trained BJCP beer judge, IBD Certified Grain Distiller, and former Diageo Master of Whisk(e)y.  Kyle currently serves as the Executive Vice President and Education Committee Chair for the United States Bartenders’ Guild, on the judging panel for the Tales of the Cocktail Spirited Awards, and as the Director of Brand Advocacy for the artisanal spirits company Samson & Surrey.
