Open space districts, park land and water districts provide us with drinking water, space to recreate and scenic vistas. If these lands are contiguous wildlife have enough space for their survival; but gaps created by roads, cities, and farms are barriers, are deadly to wildlife. River otters have recently returned to Marin and mountain lions share our open space. Explore the concepts of habitat connectivity and wildlife corridors to better understand how these mammals thrive in the Bay Area near 7 million people. Learn what you can do to be a good neighbor!
