Edging Out the Cloud

Event Details
Computing is going through another one of its identity crises - is it centralized or distributed? - and the cloud is shape-shifting into cloudlets and fog. Driven by the demand for optimized bandwidth and reduced latency, cloud providers, carriers, and emerging startups are laying the groundwork to manage an ever expanding and powerful edge. Machine learning, SDN, serverless computing, GPU/TPUs, and other technologies are pointing to a not-so-distant future where today's massive data centers will be transformed - scattered into millions of mini data centers – cell towers, autonomous cars, robots, drones and IoT. This new "edge of computing" will certainly change the core of data processing….but will the cloud really be blown away? Join us on November 14th for a spirited dialogue with leading technology executives on how the cost-efficient and flexible $247B cloud market will respond to this inevitable shift.

Who Should Come?
Anyone who is involved in cloud and edge computing is welcome. We especially expect to see researchers, engineers building applications and infrastructure. This event is primarily intended for people with technical fluency and have a desire to help each other advance. We'd like to welcome everyone, but we only have capacity for 75 people. We'll tune the acceptance list to ensure an interesting conference with a diversity of people and perspectives.
