Come out and take action in the fight against climate change with the EDF Ambassador community! We will be having a letter writing event old fashion pen-and-paper style where each of us will craft our own letters to support causes which speak to us. The main one we'll be tackling is supporting the EPA's standards to regulate carbon emission on existing coal fire power plants, and there will be other topics available as well.
The EPA made history by proposing the first ever regulation of climate pollution for existing coal power plants, but of course the powerful coal lobby is out to do everything possible to make sure this regulation isn't actually implemented. The EPA needs our help to prove that Americans vocally support this legislation, and written letters count loads more than emails.
Come out, meet some new like-minded people, bounce around some ideas, and most importantly make your voice heard in support of a sustainable future! We'll provide envelopes, paper, and stamps. Hope to see you there!
UPDATE: The location has been changed to the SF Public Library, Mary Louise Strong room. If you come in the 30 Gough St entrance to the library, it is on the first floor to the left, behind the main stairway. Unfortunately food and beverages other than water are not permitted, though we may go to a nearby cafe afterwards if folks are interested.
Note: This is not a Library Sponsored Program.
