Celebrate Earth Day and connect with other local gardeners at our free plant and seed swap! Novice gardeners very welcome!
Bring your plants and seeds to share and swap at our second annual Orta Plant Swap!
(Novice gardeners: Please come even if you don't have plants! More experienced gardeners always have waaay too many plants and will be happy to share them with you, along with lots of free advice. Plants and gardeners both tend to be abundant life forms, producing surpluses of plants to give away.)
We'll be celebrating Earth Day, and the completion of a beautiful tiny house that's been under construction in the side yard at our studio. What better way to honor earth day than to get inspired to grow more plants and see new ways of living well with fewer resources.
We'll be doing studio tours throughout the day, plus having a seconds / sample sale.
Live music! Perhaps food vendors (still working on that).
We'll do the plant swapping at 1:00.
What to bring:
Seeds:
Any seeds you like that are still viable, and clearly marked with the variety.
Plants:
Houseplants; rooted cuttings; seedlings of veggies, herbs, and flowers; perennials
Please make sure that all plants are disease-free and in labeled containers that are easy for people to move. We'll provide a few extra pots and labels.
Novice gardeners: Bring your positive attitude and curiosity! (no plants necessary)
Even if you don't have plants to share, we want to give you some! Believe me, plant people will bring too many, and we'll want to bend your ear about plants.
