SF Green Film Festival is pleased to present this special Earth Day screening of JANE - a film about Jane Goodall and her early years in Gombe.

Using a trove of footage unearthed from the National Geographic archives, JANE tells the true story of Jane Goodall as a young woman whose chimpanzee research challenged the male-dominated scientific consensus of her time and revolutionized our understanding of the natural world.

Directed by award-winning filmmaker Brett Morgen and set to a rich orchestral score from legendary composer Philip Glass, the film offers an unprecedented, intimate portrait of the trailblazer who defied the odds to become one of the world’s most admired conservationists.

“One of the best documentaries of 2017. An astonishing accomplishment. Morgen is setting the bar for profile documentaries and changing the rules for his field.” ~ Brian Tallerico, RogerEbert.com

“Few films this year offer up such lush and formal components. Morgen has made a film of deep emotional beauty. Required viewing for anyone seeking a classic in the making.“ ~ Kate Erbland, IndieWire
