Earl Thomas & the Blues Ambassadors

SEE EVENT DETAILS
The story of Earl Thomas and The Blues Ambassadors begins at a historical crossroads where African rhythms merge with European folk music and where sorrow created soul, where the rural became urban and a national theme became a global phenomenon.

Interpreting the uniquely American music style known as the blues, this San Francisco-based band achieves its distinctive sound, not just from the multicultural heritage of the blues, but also the reflected heritage in the international composition of the band's ensemble.

Their stunning 2011 release, "Introducing The Blues Ambassadors" reached #12 on the Living Blues radio charts and #1 on Sirius XM BB King Bluesville. Earl Thomas, a Tennessee born singer and songwriter, accompanied by musicians whose backgrounds embody both San Francisco's cultural diversity and the stylistic roots of the blues brings together African-American, East Indian, and European musicians collaborating in performances fusing contemporary style with the rich harmonies of the past and delivered with compelling world class showmanship.

Spectacle and rhythm merge in the ensemble's live SRO "last Saturday of the month" shows at Biscuits & Blues where the cadence of the Blue Ridge Mountains blends with San Francisco's sharp city lights as it weaves through an American national identity.

Earl Thomas & The Blues Ambassadors have integrated and revitalized the blues by creating their own unique sound. But it is their dynamic stage show with Thomas' well trained vocals and well honed stage persona and elemental, unifying poetry, that is the continuation of that tradition. He has few rivals and his is the universal spirit and multifaceted heritage of the blues.
