The Dunsmuir Hellman mansion has been designated a National Historic Site by the United States Department of the Interior and both the Mansion and the Carriage House have been designated Historic Landmarks by the City of Oakland.
Docent-led Tours of the Dunsmuir Mansion
Every Wednesday, Dunsmuir's volunteer docents lead visitors on a guided tour of the Estate grounds and the 37-room Dunsmuir Mansion. Wear low heeled walking shoes. No high heels allowed in the Mansion.
Dunsmuir is also open the first Sunday of every month from April through September for Family Sundays. It is not open in November and is open annually in December for Holidays at Dunsmuir.
