Doodles to Designer

SEE EVENT DETAILS
Do you scribble evening gowns in the corners of your homework? Do you dream up outfits you wish you could really wear? Do you dream of creating outrageous costumes just like the ones your favorite cartoon characters wear? In this workshop geared towards young designers, students will learn the basics of how to bring their two-dimensional designs to three-dimensional life. The workshop will include a basic overview of fibers, weaves, and fabric properties, as well as a hands-on lesson in basic techniques, such as hand-stitching, pleating, and gathering. Students are invited to bring their sketchbooks and designs to share with the class.
Ages 9-12 (parents welcome); beginner level class.
