Netflix's Vice President of Documentary and Comedy Programming has had an enormous impact on the way filmmakers and viewers approach non-fiction filmmaking. Lisa Nishimura is an eleven-year Netflix veteran who spearheaded Netflix's Original Documentaries initiative in 2013. The non-fiction work developed under her tenure includes a wide range of series and feature productions including Ava DuvVernay's 13TH, Werner Herzog's Into the Inferno, and Liz Garbus's What Happened Miss Simone?
