Dirty Habit Presents "Banned Books and Brunch with Fauxnique” – An Event That Celebrates the Freedom of Expression with a Dash of Flair!

Fauxnique, a captivating Drag Queen (and so much more), gives life to passages from banned poems and books. The morning of literary rebellion includes readings of "Howl" by Allen Ginsberg and "Leaves of Grass" by Walt Whitman. Brunch includes bottomless mimosas and a sneak peek of Dirty Habit's upcoming new menu items, such as Peach & Mozzarella Caprese and Fig & Brie Flatbread.

Fauxnique is the alter-ego of artist/choreographer/writer Monique Jenkinson whose work dwells at the intersection of contemporary dance and cabaret and considers the performance of femininity as a powerful, vulnerable and subversive act. Since making herstory as the first cis-woman crowned as a pageant-winning drag queen, she has performed her works in varied contexts, nationally and internationally. Her memoir Faux Queen: A Life in Drag (Amble Press) is out now & available where books are sold.
