A part of IDEO’s Reimagine End of Life, JCCSF and Reboot bring you Death Over Dinner – Jewish Edition.
The way we die – end-of-life decisions, death rituals, what happens after we die – is probably the most important conversation we are not having.
In the unique setting of Carousel Consignment SF, surrounded by keepsakes and reminders of the past, Reboot and JCCSF invite you to transition out of the workweek and enter a space of ritual and reflection. Make this Shabbat a memorable and meaningful one with Death Over Dinner, a communal dining experience and moderated discussion that casts an unflinching eye at end-of-life experiences through a Jewish lens. While this might seem heavy (and it sometimes is), this shared experience can inspire deep conversations and personal reflection.
Reboot's Death Over Dinner: Jewish Edition believes that talking about death not only better prepares us to approach life’s most challenging moments, but also helps us articulate and affirm who we are and what we ultimately care about, leaving us better able to embrace the mysteries of death and to appreciate life. Together we create a space of engagement, insight and empowerment.
Schedule of Activities:
6:00 pm – Beer and wine reception with standing dinner
7:00 pm – Shabbat blessings and Conversation
Advanced tickets required. Event is intended for adults age 18 and over.
