Tickets are now on sale for the 18th annual Matanzas Creek Winery “Days of Wine and Lavender” festival. Tickets can be ordered at Matanzas Creek.com. Wine country’s premier lavender event takes place from 12 to 4 p.m. Saturday, June 28. The festivities will offer an immersion of the senses as guests stroll through vibrant fields of lavender in peak bloom, a must-see spectacle creating a sea of purple and perfuming the air with their heady fragrance.
Guests will enjoy a dynamic line-up of educational wine seminars focused on sensory exploration and wine and food pairings. A highlight will include a demonstration of how to pair oysters with different styles of Sauvignon Blanc led by winemaker Marcia Monahan and oyster guru Rowan Jacobson. The festival will also feature delicious food pairings created by local culinary rock stars with dishes featuring estate-grown lavender as a culinary ingredient.
Other event activities include guided tours of the beautiful Matanzas Creek estate by trolley, a showcase of the winery’s lavender barn and lavender product-making techniques, tastings of new wine releases, lavender-infused honey tastings by Marshall’s Farm and live music.
Tickets are $95 per person, or $75 for wine club members. All proceeds will support Ceres Community Project, a non-profit that builds healthy and caring communities by engaging teens as gardeners and chefs and nurturing their leadership skills and commitment to healthy eating.
Please order early as the festival sells out in advance each year. For more information or to purchase tickets, call (800) 590-6464.
