In a time of environmental and political crises, can seance, spirituality, and performance intersect to provide models for political action and contemplative inquiry? Dancing With The So Called Dead is a month long festival of workshops and public conversation that examines the intersections of performance making and mediumship.

The MFA Program in Theatre-Performance Making and The Arts at CIIS are proud to host some of the most dynamic and thought-provoking voices in contemporary performance art: Peggy Phelan, Guillermo Gomez-Pena, Amara Tabor-Smith, Leslie Hill and Helen Paris (Curious), Sean San Jose, and Dohee Lee investigate loss, memory, mourning, death, and dedication.
