Happy New Year y'all...
Starting January off fresh with a new weekly dance immersive taught by me:)
I have studied latin ballroom dance off and on since childhood and I have about 3 years professional teaching experience. Obviously, I am passionate about dance music and when it comes to dance floors, what I really enjoy is incorporating Latin rhythms, styling and footwork.
So every Tuesday, I will be teaching two classes in the following format:
7pm Partner dance
$25/couple
Latin rhythms and dance frame to many genres of music including rock, retro pop, and house.
For the initial vision, this class with focus on couples so bringing a partner is required. I am doing this for at least 2 reasons:
1. Couples want to dance close and I want to incorporate that as early as possible in proper form. Most group classes involve rotation (also beneficial for learning to adapt to different partners) and it can be awkward to do close and sexy moves this way.
2. When you are with the same partner, I can offer tips that are appropriate to your level and thus keep everyone engaged. Sometimes group classes can be boring if it is beneath your ability or frustrating if it is above your ability.
**This class with be appropriate for all levels. Bring a partner you are comfortable being close to. Great for lovers, best friends, and 3rd dates :P
8pm Solo Dance
$10/drop in
focusing on Latin rhythms, body isolation, and styling to tech-house playlist
I have a few Zumba certifications and what I love about their style is that the instructions are exclusively non-verbal, which helps you drop into the music and your body more than my direction. It is not about doing things correctly, it is about doing what feels good and discovering new pathways to movement. Solo dancing is the most liberating form of expression I have experienced and I am really excited to share this with you!
This class with be all levels with basic movements, warm up and cool down to various tempos. No partner necessary
