Daily Flash: A Generative Writing Workshop!
Our group focuses on writing daily (Yes! Every Day!) by using specially curated prompts, lessons, video clips, images and quoted passages. Each session lasts 4 weeks with weekends off. Every week you will have a new partner with whom you exchange writing. This is done via email, though members have also met in person on occasion.
You will be surprised at just how much you can write given the right setting.
Writers often get isolated. Isolation can breed uncertainty. This is a way to step out of the void. To present writing to someone else and get an immediate daily response is to feel involved in a community where stories matter.
We are a diverse group of published and unpublished writers, from prize-winners to those working on their first story. What matters is having an honest desire and willingness to commit.
I work as a Developmental Editor, hold an MFA in Creative Writing, and have led formal critique workshops. But there's a special satisfaction in administering a group focused on generating new material. You need the raw materials first in order to fashion any sort of edifice, big or small.
