WHY are our Private Barrel Selections so special?
Karen Politz, Owner of D&M, goes to Bourbon County Kentucky every year.  After tasting through hundreds of barrel samples, she brings back just a few of her favorites. NEXT, the D&M staff tastes through each barrel sample and selects their top whiskey. Quite the vetting process!
At D&M we do the tasting and Barrel Selection ourselves! We have our own opinions about what makes a top whiskey; a top whiskey. The team at D&M is constantly tasting and sampling all types of whiskey from all over the world.  We make the decision how long to age and when to bottle our Private Barrel Selections. We pride ourselves on ALWAYS being educated and knowledgeable so we can bring you only the best products!

Why are Single Barrel Selections Superior When Chosen by an Experienced Palate?
In wine making, the best and most expensive wines are from grapes hand selected from small single vineyard parcels.  With fine wine, the wine is tasted to ensure consistency and quality and ONLY bottled when it is ready for consumption OR when it has received enough oak influence and is in need of resting in the bottle to improve.  Most wine is blended when it is not labeled "Single Vineyard"; this is for the purpose of ensuring consistency at a higher production volume.
Whiskey is very similar to wine!
Most prominant whiskey companies release single barrel or limited edition whiskeys; similar to Single Vineyard or  Estate Bottled Wines.  Whiskey companies send tasting experts or Master Distillers to search through their hundreds (or thousands) of barrels to choose the MOST exemplary barrels for their Single Barrel and Limited Edition Releases.  These barrels are often left to age at the distillery much longer and then bottled under a seperate name with a much higher price tag!
We look forward to sharing our Whiskey's and our knowledge with you!
Light snacks will be provided.
See you there.
