Crobot, Flexx Bronco, Blackwulf

SEE EVENT DETAILS
Crobot : Crobot is taking the beard back from the somber singer/songwriters and lifting it high as a symbol of hard rock prowess. These Pennsylvania boys have grooves a plenty, and aren't afraid to use 'em. Crobot is a hard rock quartet for sci-fi nerds, horror movie enthusiasts, and deep thinkers -- while also leaving room for your average stoner, taste making hipsters, and lovers of classic rock and metal. Sticky sweet bass, howling vocals filled with 70's style passion, and driving rhythms will keep fans of Queens of the Stone Age or Chris Cornell happy, and the raucous energy, sick hair styles, and slightly evil attitude will make Motorhead fans take notice. The Crobot live show is known for being an unstoppable blast of energy -- there ain't nowhere to hide in the front row or beyond. You may, if just for a moment, think that you've been transported back to a simpler time, where jeans were tighter, hair was longer, and wall to wall weed smoke parted like the red sea for constant, heavy, hard rock grooves. Singer Brandon swings his hair and clutches his mic like a new Robert Plant while letting some of his soul escape with every word. Each band member seems to put his all into every performance, which is what gave Crobot a reputation for non-stop energy. Watch with glee as Crobot does its best to melt faces, burst ear drums, and keep the audience wanting more non-stop hard rock.

Flexx Bronco: San Francisco's own Flexx Bronco represents a dying breed: punk attitude, hard rock soul, and cavalier approach to bringing the jams. Hard riffs, pounding drums, some underlying country western influence, and so much shredding all combine to make a whirlwind of fast, loud, and fun tunes that will keep your feet moving and your head banging. Each show promises a ton of reckless rock energy with a sprinkle of punk, twang, blues, and booze. It's quite an experience, and with two guitars, a penchant for theatrics, and years of experience, you know that every show is going to be epic. Somehow these dudes have inhabited that space below the radar that is usually reserved for bands with a much smaller personality, not the perfect storm of classic rock blues that is Flexx Bronco. You can't quite shake the feeling that these four dudes are in it for the fun and love of music, instead of the acclaim that they deserve. Flexx Bronco is proof that rock and roll will never die, but it might swagger away to get drunk for a bit. Prepare your body for some headbang-worthy jams, grab a drink, and get ready to let the Flexxies do their thing.

Blackwulf: Nothing says heavy friggin' metal quite like a German sounding name, an animal skull and a stylized name in a Motorhead-esque font. Blackwulf sure knows how to play the game, and they back it up with dark doomy riffs that any metal fan would be proud to listen to. Melodic metal is not a game for the weak -- it takes strength to make a slow sludgy song that breaks into a rhythm that is actually interesting, and Blackwulf can do it. This is metal for metal lovers -- it's intricate, modern, and yet holds true to those who came before it. And did I mention Blackwulf has some of the coolest art we've seen recently? Vocals are reminiscent of 90s hard rock acts and the music is perfect for lighting a doob and cruising through the streets. Blackwulf is psychedelic at times but never turns its back on heavy, sludgey, metal and brooding lyrics with the occasional long scream to really get your blood pumping. Imagine a Soundgarden, but for people who might like to play Magic The Gathering and study pagan history. The live show is a dark wonderland of energy, hitting all the right spots for a good time -- screaming, head banging, and metal for all. Don't forget to throw up the sign of the horns eagerly and often.
