Workshop by Soad Kader
Artist Soad Kader will guide you as you create your own “YES!” Book, a personal collection of spontaneous collages made with everything you love and makes you feel YES! during your image selection process.
In an effort to connect with your inner wisdom in an intuitive way, you will make spontaneous collages with images taken from your favorite magazines. Colors, shapes, textures, objects, landscapes, people, words - anything that captures your attention in an immediate, visceral way engaging your senses of touch, taste, smell, and sound without your analytical brain getting in the way. What makes you feel good? What makes you feel yes! - no filters or editing, just that immediate attraction. Later, much later after the collages are done you can return to them with your critical thinking to make sense of the messages.
This creative process will be fun and ultimately self-reflective. You will have started a book with potential for personal expansion and much insight.
Materials/Fee
$45 fee includes blank book, use of tools, adhesives and select collage materials. Attendees are encouraged to bring 3-5 favorite or personally meaningful magazines to cut up. Feel free to email Soad with questions: [email protected]
