Please join us Thursday, July 26th for an evening celebrating Women at Work hosted by Batch SF. In an effort to educate and empower our community there will be a panel focused on the different experiences and hurdles women in business experience, moderated by the Batch SF Retail Director, Amanda Latham-Frisbie. The panel will be followed by a lively Q&A with industry experts so you can walk away with actionable ways to chase your dreams. After the Q&A, we will continue the conversation over cocktails with the Bay Area’s industry insiders and guests can shop our Coyuchi products in the Batch space.
Drinks will be served by woman-founded Golden State Cider and Ritual Coffee Roasters, and light bites will be available. Ritual Coffee Roasters will be providing coffee samples for guests to take home too. Also, every attendee will have the opportunity to receive $50 to Coyuchi and every Coyuchi purchase will come with a special organic gift.
We look forward to sharing an inspired evening with you in the Batch Showroom nestled in San Francisco’s Nob Hill neighborhood!

PANELIST
Eileen Mockus, CEO of Coyuchi
Growing up in a household where her mother and five sisters all sewed, Eileen Mockus has been passionate about textiles as long as she can remember. Eileen pursued a bachelor of science in textile and clothing from the University of California, Davis, and a master of science in business administration, with an emphasis on small business and entrepreneurship, from San Francisco State University. Eileen learned about entrepreneurship first-hand while developing new products for the North Face and honed her business development and branding skills at Pottery Barn Kids and PB Teen. At these and other iconic brands, such as Patagonia, she made use of her deep knowledge of the technical side of the textile business, working in fabric development, materials testing, product development and sourcing. She first became interested in organic cotton and improved processing for textiles while visiting manufacturing facilities in Europe and Asia. The challenge of making high-quality products in a way that is respectful to the people who make them, as well as to the earth, drew her to Coyuchi and helps guide her vision for the company as we grow.
Jen Pelka, Owner of The Riddler and Founder of Magnum PR
Jen Pelka is the owner of The Riddler, a Champagne bar in San Francisco, which was named “Wine Bar of the Year” this year by Eater. Pelka’s career in restaurants began at Chef Daniel Boulud’s Restaurant DANIEL, where she served for 5 years across a broad range of roles—kitchen stagier, Chef Boulud’s Research Assistant, and the US Competition Director for the Bocuse d’Or. She went on to lead influencer marketing, content strategy, and media relations in-house at OpenTable, Gilt Taste, and Tumblr. She has been named Forbes “30 Under 30” for Food & Wine, a Details “Digital Maverick, and a Cherry Bombe “It Girl.” Pelka won an IACP Award for Best Culinary or Brand Site in 2012 for Gilt Taste and was a James Beard Award nominee for Best Food Coverage in a Food Focused Publication.
Sara Schaer, Co-founder and CEO of Kango
Kango is a ride and childcare service for kids and was awarded “Best Uber for Kids” by San Francisco Magazine, in its July 2017 “Best of the Bay” issue. Kango is Sara's third startup. She joined Snapfish.com as Product Manager #2 in 2000, and grew it from a free rollscanning service in the US, to a global digital photo and video e-commerce company operating in 22 countries, pre-and post-acquisition by HP. She ran a global product team which spanned 3 continents. Sara left in 2011 in order to pursue her own product idea. Laura Jo, Founder of Metolius Home Wallpaper Company
Laura Jo holds an MFA in painting from the San Francisco Art Institute. She is deeply engaged in the tactile world of making art by hand and values infusing spaces with items that begin with and retain elements of the handmade. Previous to launching Metolius in 2017, Laura Jo was a designer for Coyuchi and helped create a fresh palette of textures and colors to offer a new perspective on organic home textiles.
PARTNERS
Golden State Cider
The cidery started in 2012 on a small organic apple farm in Northern California and the golden liquid was sold exclusively at Bay Area Farmer’s Markets for the first couple of years. Soon, cider making became a full-time obsession for the compnay and Golden State Cider was born from the same ethos that they started with: great cider starts with quality fruit.
Ritual Coffee Roasters
Ritual has been a pioneer in a delicious shift in coffee consciousness since they opened their doors on Valencia Street in 2005 and started what some call a coffee revolution in San Francisco. Their goal then--and their goal now--is to craft the very best cup of coffee available anywhere. Period. They've learned a lot over the years, but the care and attention they lavish on their process is unchanged, including tasting every coffee several times before it goes out to our coffee bars and into your cup.
