It is said in Buddhism that one must balance study and practice in order to advance on the Bodhisattva Path. In this four-session series we will dive deeper into the opportunities for expanding our practice by utilizing the tools offered to us in these main tenets of Buddhist teachings, all core to Shantideva's teachings: The King of Prayers, aka Seven Branch Prayer; The Six Perfections; and The Four Brahma Viharas.
Each one of these will be activated through the overlay of an engaged Body, Speech and Mind into specific spiritual practices supported by each of these teachings.
Together these teachings cultivate the causes and conditions that lead to fruition of an Awakened Heart, for the betterment of all sentient beings.
There will be at least 40 minutes of interaction between participants each class. You will be encouraged to create and share spiritual practices inspired by the wisdom of these texts throughout the course.
This class will meet online on four Saturdays: September 6, 20, 27 and October 4. Classes will be held from 10:00 am to noon PDT.
Donation levels:
The full series: $150/ $175/ $200
Individual sessions: $35/ $50/ $75
Links to materials and resources will be provided.
Recordings of the classes will be made available.
