Come to YBCA’s June ConVerge ready to work out your body and mind!
This month we present the premiere of Heavy Breathing, an experimental art and performance experience in the form of a free fitness class lead by artists, dancers, and writers and accompanied by live music. ConVerge is a monthly series at YBCA where innovative artists present new and exciting projects geared towards engaging audiences. From 4-8 PM come together with your friends, have some delicious cocktails, and free access to our world class galleries! ConVerge is part of Third Thursdays in Yerba Buena.
4-6 PM: Enjoy a cocktail hour and get pumped with interactive art installations, including a gong-fu-style Chinese tea service.
6-7:30 PM: Heavy Breathing - Activating the channels between mind and body with artists Sophia Wang and Lisa Rybovich Crallé, participants will feel the burn through group discussion, movement exercises, and a physical engagement with critical theory.
Support for Heavy Breathing is provided by Southern Exposure’s Alternative Exposure Grant Program. Heavy Breathing is free and open to the public, with hour-long sessions taking place weekly at various Bay Area venues between June and August 2015.
