In the Bay Area, the technology industry is ubiquitous and exhilarating, but the prevailing leadership paradigm can emphasize top down management and a highly stressful and competitive environment. The reality is that tech industry leaders do not always create environments that work for women, and that being a woman in tech is not always easy. Recent reports indicate that women with careers in science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) have a very small percentage of tech jobs, relative to men, and that number is falling. Is it a pipeline issue? Poor retention? A culture issue? Is it leadership style? Or something else?
Our panel of women tech leaders will talk about this situation and offer real world solutions for fostering more conscious leadership and inclusion. You’ll hear a thoughtful discussion on how women leaders are having a positive impact by creating a more diverse workplace. They are bringing a leadership style to their work that is inspiring better engagement, creativity and innovation. And hopefully attracting more women to STEM jobs.
Please join us for a lively conversation with a panel of amazing women working at some of the biggest tech companies in the Bay Area. The Conscious Capitalism Bay Area chapter brought them together to show how we can leverage conscious values and energy to lead our organizations into a future that works for all of us.
Featured Panelists:
Regina Wallace-Jones, Head of Operations and Chief of Staff at eBay
Tina Dao, Senior Director of Engineering at FitBit
Aradhana (Ana) Vaidya, Senior Customer Success Engineer at Autodesk
Cathy Goerz, Communications Strategist, Catherine Goerz Communications and Co-chair of Marketing for Conscious Capitalism Bay Area
The panel will be facilitated by Jared Karol, Chief Storyteller, Connector and Collaborator for Storytelling for Good and a contributor to Change Catalyst.
Light appetizers and drinks starting at 6 pm.
