Have you ever wondered who works in a foreign consulate or embassy? Come meet consular staff from a diversity of backgrounds who will give insight into the different avenues for developing a foreign policy career. Panelists include Kate Walters, senior foreign policy & diplomacy officer at the Consulate General of Canada, Peng Wenlin, consul at the Consulate General of the People's Republic of China and Joanna Olivera, investment director at the Australian Consulate-General. Following the discussion, there will be an opportunity to engage with our speakers, so come ready to learn, network and have fun! Light refreshments will be served.
This event is brought to you in partnership by World Affairs CONNECT and the Asia Society Young Professionals Group (ASYPG). CONNECT is an avenue for like-minded individuals to interact and strategize on the issues that matter. CONNECT events give global change-makers, artists and entrepreneurs the opportunity to share their work and inspire others.
ASYPG is an organization spearheaded by Bay Area young professionals who are passionate about fostering a greater mutual understanding of today's US-Asian relations. ASYPG aims to keep the Bay Area’s young leaders of tomorrow informed about Asia today across all fields by organizing opportunities for young professionals to engage with community leaders at the forefront of those relations in the business, cultural, educational and political sectors.
