Conducta with Sam Binga, Keishaboy, and Soundpieces Crew
One of the world's most respected dance music trailblazers, Conducta has been setting pace for close to a decade now. Breaking through in the mid-2010s, it was in the latter half of that decade when the Bristol-born artist came into his own, releasing his most successful run of singles to date. As well as a succession of celebrated solo hits, there was also 'Whippet', his inescapable collaboration with Sammy Virji, and 'Ladbroke Grove', a production for AJ Tracey that not only went double platinum in the UK charts, but officially now stands as the best-selling UK garage record in history. As a DJ, Conducta's stock also sky-rocketed, with a packed worldwide diary and a regular schedule of acclaimed DJ mixes, including a contribution to the BBC's flagship Essential Mix series and his Kiwi Krush mixtape - the latter chosen as Resident Advisor's number one mix of 2019. Subsequent years would see him star on the cover of both DJ Mag and Mixmag, establishing himself at the top table of UK dance music talent.
Of course, Conducta's story is not complete without mentioning the label he formerly ran, Kiwi Rekords. Launched in 2019, Kiwi not only became synonymous with the cutting edge of modern UK Garage, championing the most exciting talent from the then-burgeoning scene, but also allowed Conducta full control of his own musical narrative and messaging. Although he closed Kiwi in 2024, having completed the label's mission, it is widely lauded as one of the most important and exciting dance labels of recent times, winning Record Label of the Year at the 2020 DJ Mag awards. Conducta has continued his upward trajectory into 2024, expanding whathe does in pretty much every direction and introducing a more diverse musical palette - as exhibited on his genre-spanning 'In Transit' EP, a flagship five-track release that draws from all corners of UK sound system culture, and on a recent North American tour which saw him play extended back-to-back sets with both modern club pioneer Swisha and dance music royalty in Todd Edwards.
