LUCKYRICE and China Live presents: LUCKY CHOW Season 2 Screening with Host Danielle ChangJoin Lucky Chow host and producer on Sunday, June 25th, for a screening party with signature cocktails and light bites at China Live!
Danielle Chang, creator of America’s No. 1 Asian food festival and leading authority on Asian cuisine and culture makes a homecoming trip to San Francisco to celebrate the release of the second season of her acclaimed PBS show, Lucky Chow. In seven new episodes, Danielle explores America’s growing obsession with Asian food and culture. Tracing this phenomenon across the country, she takes her audience from intimate, home kitchen visits to decadent meals at Michelin-starred restaurants — and every heirloom, Asian vegetable farm and sweaty sumo ring in between, seeking to justly encapsulate the Asian-American experience by combining the art of storytelling with the lens of food and drink.
The event will begin with a cocktail reception including specialty Toki Whisky cocktails by Suntory and a screening of the season's fourth episode, Made in China, will follow. In the episode, Danielle draws parallels between the rise of China to an increased interest in Chinese culinary traditions. After the event, guests are welcome to dine at China Live*, a culinary and cultural destination in the heart of SF’s Chinatown.
Guests will also have the opportunity to purchase Danielle Chang's cookbook, Lucky Rice: Stories and Recipes from Night Markets, Feasts, and Family Tables.
