On Tuesday, July 16th, Comal will welcome Susan Coss, founder of Mezcalistas, for a special dinner that will be both festive and educational. Susan will discuss the impact the mezcal industry is having on the communities where it is made. The ramp up in production and the surge in demand is changing not only the process of how mezcal is made, but also changing life in the small towns that have been marginalized for centuries. The changes are both positive and negative and, as appreciation (and consumption) of mezcal increases on this side of the border, Susan has taken the lead on educating consumers about these issues.
