You're invited! Join Spark's Cocktails for a Cause to amplify women's voices and raise funds to those on the front lines of promoting gender equality.
It can be easy to take access to reproductive healthcare for granted. There are 26 countries around the world where abortion is illegal and women and girls face an uphill battle learning about their own rights.
Haiti is one such country. Our newest Grantee, Neges Kreyol, was founded in 2015 to provide education and counseling for young women on their sexual wellbeing, self care, abortion, sexuality, and gender-based violence. They operate in the rural, North Eastern part of Haiti where they have found that in particular, young girls between the ages of 15-16 are often forced into sexual relations with older men in order to earn money for their families and thus end up with unwanted pregnancies. Our Spark Grant will go towards new awareness campaigns and workshops trainings, as well as distribution of contraception, to help break this cycle.
Proceeds from this event will go to Spark’s 2019 grantmaking including Neges Kreyol and the others soon to be selected by Spark's members this year. Every ticket and membership purchase helps women and girls on their path to independence and equality.

Spark members identify potential grantees, vote on organizations to support, secure monetary and in-kind donations, and evaluate outcomes.
