————————————————MUSIC JAM AND WORKSHOP DESCRIPTIONSLatin Music Jam Session with Tregar Otton and Miguel GoveaOpen to vocalists and instrumentalists (violin, piano, brass and woodwinds, bass, Latin percussion). Come play Latin and Cuban tunes with others with room for solos and engaging in the art of the Jam Session! Sheet Music will be provided.Beatles Music Jam Session with Scott FeichterJoin Scott Feichter, leader of CMC’s Thursday night Beatles Ensemble in recreating the immortal music of the Beatles. Bring your instrument (all are welcome) or voice and channel your inner John, Paul, George, or Ringo in a fun group setting. Music will be provided.Ukulele Demo Group Class with Sandy BrassardBring your ukulele and play in fun group class environment. You'll be introduced to some favorite tunes to play and sing along.  The instructor will provide song sheets with chords. Open to all ages and levels of experience. This class is a free trial of the new Ukulele for Beginners class at CMC on Sundays from 2 – 3pm.Vocal Performance Practicum with Jonathan Smucker & Richard FeyThis workshop provides an opportunity to perform a song for fellow singers in an informal setting, and to receive feedback on your performance from faculty. Singers in the practicum will have the opportunity to rework all or part of the piece, and may sing with our provided faculty pianist or self accompany. Interested singers should email their name, song title, and timing (five minutes or less) to Jonathan Smucker at [email protected] by September 4th.Meet CMC’s Neighbor, Mission District TherapyMission District Therapy will have a table at CMC Sunday. Learn about injury prevention for musicians of all levels. Meet with physical therapists from Mission District Therapy who can answer your questions and concerns about how you can stay injury-free while you develop your musical skills, enabling you to pursue your passion for years to come. You may also speak with them about an existing injury.
Embodiment & Expression for Musicians Demo Class with Sonja Riket Are you experiencing tension, pain, discomfort or performance anxiety while you are singing or playing your instrument? Come to a demo with Sonja to explore how you can free yourself! If possible, bring your instrument.This fall the full course Embodiment & Expression for Musicians will be offered by Sonja Riket, Somatic Movement Therapist, who is a certified Feldenkrais® and Body-Mind Centering® Teacher. You will learn to find more ease and expression to improve the quality and longevity of your musical life.
