Closer Season 8

Following their world premiere at the Aspen Fringe Festival Oct 1, 2021, SOULSKIN present's the new Dance Film CLOSER created by SOULSKIN Dance Choreographer Adrianna Thompson during the Covid Pandemic. CLOSER reveals our need for human connection and the diversity and inclusion that is essential in a true democracy. CLOSER was created in collaboration with SOULSKIN Resident filmmaker Jaco Strydom over a period of 7 months. Also viewers will be treated to a sneak peak of a new dance in progress, The Awakening. The vibe for this ballet harks back to the 70's and never ending party that was STUDIO 54. The dance floor became a platform for individual exploration and expression of all kinds. Disco music became a common thread for peoples of all races and classes to share. The Awakening is both Celebration and a Prayer... to sow the seeds of reconciliation and compassion in a time of division.
