Children of Hobbes

SEE EVENT DETAILS
November 17-19, Friday and Saturday at 8:00 pm, Sunday at 7:00 pm

In 1651, the philosopher Thomas Hobbes wrote: "In the nature of man, we find three principle causes of quarrel: competition, diffidence and glory."

The evening-length dance "Children of Hobbes" is a direct response to our nation's current politics. Just as the 2016 election revealed the darker side of human nature that usually hides in the shadows and corners, this dance exposes the power imbalances and moral dilemmas resulting from the endlessly complex interplay between individuals and society.
