Chidananda: Principles of the Bhagavad Gita

SEE EVENT DETAILS
While modern-day yoga is based on physical postures to help our bodies, the ancient Yogis knew that the body is limited and originally taught yoga as a way to realise lasting tranquillity and satisfaction of life. The talk covers the purpose as well as the goal of life, based on the yoga shastras (teachings) contained in the Bhagavad Gita. The Gita is the original mindfulness practice given over 5000 years ago. In addition, we discuss the philosophy of Ahimsa (non-violence) taught in the Bhagavad Gita and its various applications to a vegan / vegetarian lifestyle in the west.
