Few visible astronomical phenomena incite as much excitement and awe in observers than the eclipse. For most of our astrological history, eclipses as a subject have been approached with trepidation and nervousness. Why? What is it about an eclipse that struck terror into the hearts of our intellectual ancestors? This presentation surveys the Western world’s historical relationship to eclipses and evaluates how these superstitions have evolved over time. We will then frame up new ways of assessing the influence of eclipses globally and learn the keys to interpreting eclipse charts for ourselves, our clients and our nations. This is a fully interactive workshop, complete with handouts and a workbook for participants to take with them for further study. Past and future eclipses will be analyzed together in group settings. Though this class is suitable for all learners, working knowledge of core astrological principles (such as the meanings of the planets, houses, signs and aspects) will ensure you get the most out of this workshop as they will not be covered in much depth.
