The Long Now Foundation's Seminars About Long-term Thinking presents:
Charles C. Mann: The Wizard and the Prophet
A portrait of the two little-known twentieth-century scientists, Norman Borlaug and William Vogt, whose diametrically opposed views shaped our ideas about the environment, laying the groundwork for how people in the twenty-first century will choose to live in tomorrow's world.
Charles C. Mann is a science journalist and author His book “1491: New Revelations of the Americas Before Columbus” won the National Academies Communication Award for best book of the year. As  a correspondent for The Atlantic, Science, and Wired, he has covered the intersection of science, technology, and commerce for many newspapers and magazines here and abroad.
Doors open at 7:00pm
Long Now's Seminars are curated and hosted by Stewart Brand.
