Changemaker Speaker Series: Pete McBride — The Colorado River:

SEE EVENT DETAILS
Award-winning photographer, filmmaker, and storyteller Pete McBride has spent over two decades traveling the globe with a camera in hand, documenting everything from the icy peaks of Mount Everest to the remote corners of Antarctica. But his most personal and passionate journey began right in his own backyard: the Colorado River.

Join Pete for The Colorado River: Chasing Water, a visually stunning and deeply moving look at the challenges facing one of America's most iconic and endangered waterways. Drawing from 20 years of exploration, McBride will share stories and imagery from his journey along the entire length of the Colorado River, from its source high in the Rocky Mountains to its desert delta, revealing how this lifeline for over 40 million people has become a bellwether of climate change and overuse.

Through his work with National Geographic, the Smithsonian, and other leading organizations, Pete has captured the fragile beauty and quiet resilience of wild places. His Grand Canyon expedition with writer Kevin Fedarko, which spanned 750 trail-less miles on foot, earned them National Geographic's "Adventurers of the Year" and led to an award-winning book and documentary (Into the Canyon). His photography and films don't just inform, they ignite action.

This evening will not only immerse you in breathtaking landscapes and compelling stories, but also challenge you to consider your connection to the natural world, and why protecting our rivers, lands, and silence may be one of the greatest investments we can make for future generations.
