Changemaker Speaker Series: Bob Poole — In The Footsteps Of Giants

SEE EVENT DETAILS
Step into the wild with Emmy Award-winning filmmaker Bob Poole, one of the most respected wildlife cinematographers in the world today. In The Footsteps of Giants, Bob brings the animal kingdom to life with captivating visuals, powerful personal stories, and a deep call to conservation.

Raised in Kenya and mentored in the African wilderness from a young age, Bob has spent his life documenting the wonders, and struggles, of the natural world. With over 40 films produced for National Geographic, PBS NATURE, BBC, and Discovery Networks, he has become a global voice for wildlife preservation. Bob's work with his sister, renowned elephant researcher Joyce Poole, has offered viewers rare access into the hidden world of elephants, revealing how generations of shared wisdom and subtle communication have helped them survive poaching, predators, climate change, and conflict.

Bob's most recent project, Secrets of the Elephants, is a visually stunning, James Cameron-produced documentary series now streaming on Disney+. From the harsh deserts of Namibia to the rebirth of Gorongosa National Park in Mozambique, Bob's lens captures not only the raw beauty of nature but also its resilience.

This evening at the Blackhawk Museum will offer a rare behind-the-scenes look into Bob's world, where stories of survival and renewal inspire us to protect what remains wild.
