ChallengeHER was created in early 2013 by the Small Business Administration (SBA), Women Impacting Public Policy (WIPP) and American Express OPEN to promote the Women-Owned Small Business (WOSB) Federal Contract Program, to bring more women-owned firms into the federal government’s supply chain, and to provide an avenue for government agencies to meet qualified women-owned contractors. Since its creation, ChallengeHER has reached more than 3,000 women business owners at events across the country.
On Friday, June 13th, U.S. Congresswoman Jackie Speier will join ChallengeHER to help San Francisco-Area women business owners learn how to take part in the WOSB Federal Contract Program and provide them with resources and knowledge to help grow their businesses through federal contracting.
In addition to Congresswoman Speier, confirmed speakers at this time include:
• John Shoraka, U.S. Small Business Administration Associate Administrator of Government Contracting and Business Development
• Donna Davis, U.S. Small Business Administration Regional Administrator for Region IX
• Mark Quinn, U.S. Small Business Administration District Director
• Ann Sullivan, WIPP Government Relations
• Tyndal Lindler, Owner of Wright Eye Consulting
ChallengeHER is a joint initiative from the Small Business Administration (SBA), Women Impacting Public Policy (WIPP) and American Express OPEN. PG&E is hosting the first ChallengeHER in San Francisco.
