Local artist, Susana Arias, was awarded "Artist of the Year" and now comes to the Museum of Art & History to lead a free clay workshop for visitors of all ages. For those unfamiliar with Susana's work, birds are a reoccurring theme as she believes that they are representative of our thoughts, dreams, secrets, and emotions. In this class, participants will be able to create their own ceramic birds which will be bisque fired by Susana at her studio later. Participants have the choice to pick up their creations or donate them to be included in a boat that will be shown as a community sculpture in Susana's "Artist of the Year" exhibit at the MAH July 19th through August 18th.
