Cafecito y Cubilete by Amy Vazquez is an interactive installation in the form of a mobile cart through which participants are offered un cafecito and are invited to play a Cuban dice game. Evoking the intimacies and hospitality of Cuban homes and bringing it into public spaces, cafecito y cubilete is a celebration of the traditions, rituals, and connections that transcend political barriers. It is a personal ode to the generosity of spirit inherent in Cuban culture and brings into question the spaces we create to play, be intimate, and share moments of joy with each other.
