Designed for educators, teachers, nurses, caregivers, therapists, counselors, day care and homeless shelter personnel, this conference will educate caregivers as to the symptoms and needs of a traumatized child.
Questions and answers, as well as two subsequent panels, will follow the talk. The panels will be “Treating Traumatized Children at Home,” addressing needs of homeless, abused, and foster children, and “Treating Traumatized Children Abroad,” which will look at the needs of refugee children.
The conference will feature Dr. James Garbarino, who will be speaking on “Traumatized Children at Home and Abroad: How to Recognize and Treat Them.” Garbarino is an emeritus professor of Psychology at Cornell University. He now heads the Department of Humanistic Psychology and The Center for Human Rights for Children at Loyola University.
Lunch and refreshments are included in ticket price.
