Whether you’re fully into your job hunt and want to improve your outcomes, or are just preparing to launch a search for your next opportunity, join us for a day of workshopping and troubleshooting so that you get the maximum results for your efforts. Learn the proven techniques that have helped hundreds of Galvanize graduates launch their new careers!
Workshop topics covered will include:
*Build Your Resume*You will get top tips on what creates a compelling resume, and learn the most common resume pitfalls and mistakes
*How to Apply*We will go from targeting companies, to writing cover letters, and what actually happens once you submit that application. What things can you do to make people more likely to actually respond?
*Mastering The Interview*We will talk about how interview processes work, and how to answer some of the most dreaded questions (including, “What salary are you looking for?” and “What are your strengths and weaknesses?”).
*Salary Negotiations*You’ll get a crash course in negotiations, including practice! Understand the correct negotiation mindset, the big mistakes to avoid, and how to handle a high-pressured negotiation situation.
*Healthy Job Search Mindset*Did you know there are certain attitudes and mindsets that have been proven to help you succeed on your job search (and in your job)? We will discuss the correct mental approach to your job search.
*Networking*Networking is a key component of most job searches. Learn how to make a great first impression, craft your elevator pitch, and learn how to get responses when you follow up.
Other Important Information:
Light breakfast, coffee, and lunch are included.
Students should bring their laptops, current versions of their resumes, and questions about challenges and/or anxieties they have faced on their job searches.

Open to all!
This all-day career bootcamp is great for people who want to find their first job in Tech or people who are already in Tech, but want to leverage their position to find their next job. If you are technical, great, but this bootcamp will be great for non-technical folks as well.
Though this bootcamp will be geared toward people who want to get into or stay in the Tech industry, the skills built will certainly be applicable to any industry.

About the Instructor:
Mary Ann Barge is a Career Services Manager at Galvanize in San Francisco. She has over 6 years’ experience helping people start and succeed in their careers, and is currently focusing on working with Galvanize’s web development and data science students on breaking into the tech industry. Prior to coming to Galvanize, she founded and ran an international recruitment company, was an early employee of a YC startup in San Francisco, and studied Russian and Latin at University College London and Notre Dame.
