Americans Jews and Israel: What's Next? A Conversation with Yossi Beilin

A vibrant conversation with the architect of the Oslo Agreement, the Geneva Accords, and Taglit Birthright Project

Dr. Yossi Beilin has a lot to say about the current state of political affairs in Israel. A member of the Knesset for more than 20 years, he has and continues to be a leading proponent of the peace process, is Chairman of the "Geneva Initiative," and participated in the back-channel negotiations that led to the adoption of the Oslo Accords. Among other topics, he will address the relationship between Israelis and American Jews today and where we go from here.

Dr. Beilin will be in conversation with his good friend, Rabbi Brian Lurie, who served for seventeen years as Executive Director of the Jewish Community Federation of SF, the Peninsula, Marin and Sonoma Counties, and more recently was President of the New Israel Fund. He has worked in Israel and America, promoting equality for Israeli Arabs and as Executive VP of the UJA, was instrumental in launching the second phase of Operation Exodus.

Dr. Beilin's career began in 1984 with his appointment as Cabinet Secretary. His primary position held was Minister of Justice, as well as other ministerial positions, including Deputy Foreign Minister, Deputy Finance Minister, Minister of Economy and Planning, Minister in the Office of the Prime Minister, and Minister for Religious Affairs.

Before entering politics, Beilin worked as a journalist and taught political science at Tel Aviv University where he earned his doctorate. He is the author of several books and he was the initiator and founder of the "Birthright" program, which has brought tens of thousands of Jews to Israel over the years.

Dr. Beilin is the Founder and President of Beilink-Business Foreign Affairs, a Global consulting firm established in 2008.

$18-$25.
