Did you know that you can drink on the Caltrain? We're taking the drinking one step further by using the Caltrain as our method of transportation on the 3rd Annual Great Caltrain Pub Crawl!
The plan is to start at the 4th and King Caltrain station in SOMA and take the train south to San Jose. We'll share drinks, get to know each other, and enjoy the views during the hour long trip. Make sure to BYOB for this portion of the crawl!
From San Jose we'll work our way back to SF on the Caltrain, stopping in a few of the nice towns along the way. Since the trains run every hour, we have one hour to get off the train, visit a bar, have drinks, and get back on the train. Let's hope we don't miss the train!
We'll visit some of the nicer towns along the Caltrain. San Jose, Santa Clara, Sunny Vale, Palo Alto, Redwood City, San Carlos, Burlinggame, and San Mateo. This is a great opportunity to explore the towns all in one day!
***NOTE: Drinking is allowed on Caltrain before 9pm, you CAN drink after 9pm, just don't be problematic***
Additional Caltrain Ticket Required: $21 for a Zone 4 day pass on Caltrain
We'll be hopping on and off the train several times so the day pass will be the cheapest option.
The Plan
11:00 AM:Meet at Lucky Strike for intros
11:35 AM:Board shuttle bus at 4th and King to Caltrain Bayshore
12:10 PM:Board Caltrain at Bayshore to San Jose
San Jose - San Pedro Square Market
Sunnyvale - River Rock Taproom
Mountain View: Steins
Palo Alto – The Rose & Crown
Redwood City - Martins West Gastropub, Gourmet Haus Staudt
San Mateo – Mortar & Pestle Bar, Grape & Grain
You are welcome to join the pub crawl along the way. Make sure to message Andy to get the updated location.
