Academic, entrepreneur and writer Vivek Wadhwa has been chastising Silicon Valley of late, calling on the tech industry to end its elitism and its arrogance and, above all, its sexism.
“The percentage of women in engineering jobs is embarrassingly low,†Wadwha wrote in a recent article for the Wall Street Journal. And unlike some who have suggested that the reason for the dearth of women in tech is due to a lack of women studying computer science, Wadwha blames the tech companies for not doing enough to ensure their workforces are diverse. In his C2SV talk on Friday, Sept. 12, he will discuss what he has learned about this issue while researching a forthcoming book on the subject.
