Learn how to move your board from the reporting and activity mode of operation to a results-based approach that is informed and inspired by purpose. We’ll explore the characteristics and practices of a results-based board in relationship to the organization, and the board’s own effectiveness. We’ll also discuss a case study to look at how a boards culture and practices can be shifted, in partnership with staff leadership. As always, this will be an interactive session. This workshop is most appropriate organizations with established boards, though all organizations are welcome and will find the session beneficial.
Moderated by Lisa Hoffman brings 25 years of experience and success to nonprofit fund and board development, facilitation, and coaching.
Grounded in practices of deep listening, respect, and collaboration, Lisa’s approach begins with clearly understanding an organization’s culture, needs and issues. Partnering with her clients, she determines how to effectively tackle challenges ranging from raising more money, to designing a dynamic and productive board-staff retreat, to helping executive directors, development professionals and board members hone their skills and fulfill their leadership potential. She then rolls up her sleeves and gets to work.
Special Guest Sheila Schroeder, Board Chair, San Francisco Waldorf School; Director of Client Development, Mosaic Financial Partners, Inc.
