Habitat is proud to partner with the LGBTQ community and allies. To celebrate San Francisco Pride, we’ll be hosting a special volunteer opportunity for a Green Space Beautification in the Bayview neighborhood.
In 1991, Steve Jacoby took the first steps toward bringing Habitat for Humanity to San Francisco. He died from AIDS before ever seeing the organization incorporated, but without his vision and work, Habitat for Humanity Greater San Francisco would not exist today.
We honor his memory with the fourth annual Stephen Blake Jacoby Memorial Build with Pride. Join members and allies of the LGBTQ community for this unique volunteer experience strengthening communities right here in the Bay Area.
Volunteers will help beautify Palou Phelps Community Garden and Quesada Gardens. This year’s Build with Pride is part of our ongoing Green Space Beautification work in the Bayview neighborhood of San Francisco. We strive to beautify and expand community parks and gardens to make them cleaner, safer, and more accessible for everyone.
Saturday, June 2, 10:00am – 1:00pm
Followed by a lunchtime celebration!
