Brunch with Soul by acclaimed local chefs S+M Vegan features menu that is gluten free, all vegan, and all flavor. Expect buckwheat crêpes benedict, a fresh Spring salad, homefries, and more deliciousness made with the finest local ingredients.
This is a leisurely, intimate gathering so you have plenty of time to connect with friends and make new ones.
Event is part of Vegan Soul Sunday (4/19 12-4PM) with cooking demos, food sampling and thought-provoking speakers discuss food, health, exercise, hip hop, social justice with keynote by Bryant Terry with Kalimah Priforce and Shakirah Simley. In partnership with Oakland Veg Week.

Brenda Salgado, Special Guest
Brenda Salgado, is the Executive Director of the East Bay Meditation Center. With over 13 years of experience in nonprofit leadership and management, facilitation, strategy and consulting. She has worked in the areas of environmental health and justice, women’s health and health equity. Throughout Brenda’s career, she has served organizations such as the Movement Strategy Center, Breast Cancer Action, Literacy for Environmental Justice and Kids for the Bay. Brenda is first generation Nicaraguan-American, born and raised in the San Francisco Bay Area. She draws on the healing powers of the natural world to inform and guide her work. She is grateful to her mentors, parents, and ancestors for instilling the cultural and spiritual values that have led her to social justice and nonprofit work. She is committed to the role of practice, culture, ceremony, relationship building and community wisdom in creating a society filled with wholeness and beauty.
About Dana Ackerman:
Refreshingly surprising, with an ever changing sound all her own, Dara Ackerman is an eclectic, indie singer-songwriter with a voice that opens the heart and touches the sky. Her songs are filled with unexpected turns, groove, and insight.
Dara works with Bay Area bands Felsen, Scarth Locke and the Sophisticates, MacClain & Cole and Los Angeles based bands The Happy Mediums, and Superbroke Superheroes Brass Tin & Strings Marching Ensemble.
Dara has sold out shows at The Lost Church (SF), The Monkey House (Berkeley), the Magic JuJu Boathouse (San Rafael), Viracocha (SF), house concerts up and down the west coast, and was recently awarded Vocalist of the Year at the 2015 Annual Twirlie Awards in Sacramento (twirlradio.com).
