Brandon Sanderson discusses and his latest fantasy novel, Shadows of Self

SEE EVENT DETAILS
at Kepler's Bookstore (see times)
We're thrilled to announce an evening with Brandon Sanderson to celebrate the latest fantasy novel, Shadows of Self, by this #1 New York Times bestselling author and one of the biggest stars in the genre today.

The long-awaited follow-up to The Alloy of Law, the bestselling spinoff of Sanderson's Mistborn series, Shadows of Self is set 300 years after the conclusion of the original trilogy in a period corresponding to late 19th-century America. And just as The Alloy of Law, the new novel can be read as a standalone.

The trilogy's heroes are now figures of myth and legend, even objects of religious veneration. They are succeeded by wonderful new characters, chief among them Waxillium Ladrian, known as Wax, hereditary Lord of House Ladrian but also, until recently, a lawman in the ungoverned frontier region known as the Roughs. There he worked with his eccentric but effective buddy, Wayne. They are "twinborn," meaning they are able to use both Allomantic and Feruchemical magic.

This bustling, optimistic, but still shaky society now faces its first instance of terrorism, crimes intended to stir up labor strife and religious conflict. Wax and Wayne, assisted by the lovely, brilliant Marasi, must unravel the conspiracy before civil strife stops Scadrial's progress in its tracks.

Premier Seating - This includes one hardcover copy of Shadows of Self, priority seating, and priority in the signing line - $40

General Seating - Does not include book, no priority seating or priority in the signing line - $20

Student Seating (must have valid student ID) - Does not include book, no priority seating or priority in the signing line - $10

Brandon will personalize up to three of his books, one of which must be a copy of Shadows of Self, purchased at Kepler's.
