On Saturday, April 13, 2019, join Schurig Center for Brain Injury Recovery for an elegant evening of community connection celebrated with wine tastings from Estate 1856 Wines, Stringer Cellars, and Wilson Artisan Wines, live music by Sarah Herzog, appetizers and light buffet dinner prepared by Comforts plus a live program hosted by Joan Ryan, sports journalist, New York Times best-selling author, and media consultant to the San Francisco Giants. Dr. Diane Barnes will also be honored for her contributions to improving the quality of life for stroke survivors through her ongoing advocacy and one-woman show “My Stroke of Luck.”
Schurig Center is the only non-profit in Marin and Sonoma offering services to help people rebuild their lives after a brain injury, concussion, or stroke. All BAM Gala proceeds support The Karen Schurig Scholarship Fund, helping to carry forth our founder's mission of providing supportive services to everyone who needs help regardless of their financial ability. These scholarships enable Schurig Center to offer services on a sliding-scale or free of charge to 70% of our clients who live on a low income. Thanks to you, we turn no one away based on ability to pay!
