Founded in 2005, Boxcar has produced over 60 shows. Notable productions include: Hedwig and the Angry Inch, Little Shop of Horrors, Clue, Where the Sidewalk Ends, and two repertory festivals - One featuring 3 Tennessee Williams plays (Cat on a Hot Tin Roof, The Glass Menagerie, and A Streetcar Named Desire), the other consisting of 4 Sam Shepard plays (True West, A Lie of the Mind, A Fool for Love, and Buried Child). Boxcar's acclaimed immersive production The Speakeasy featured over 1600 pages of scripted content, 35 actors and ran for 3 years.
